Happy Father's day to all. We went to the zoo and had planned on staying for about 2 hours. We ended up staying for 5. Mr. Independent had no desire to ride in the stroller. Of the 5 hours that we were there, he rode in it for maybe 30 seconds. He had to have walked(really he ran) for a good 4 to 5 miles. Pic #1 - Trying to touch the chimp. Pic #2 - Feeding the deer. He was very fair about handing out the food. He was trying to make sure that they each got the same amount. Try telling a pack of 8-10 deer that it isn't their turn. Pic #3 - Getting to high5 the KC Wolf (Chiefs mascot). Pic #4 - He liked the Sea Lions since they barked like dogs.

Another carnival. Our local communications company had a carnival-BBQ at a park 4 blocks from our house. Pic #1 - A slide like the one at "Pump it up". The hardest part was telling him that he had to wait his turn before he could slide again. Pic #2 - After bouncing in the moon walk for about 5 minutes. Pic #3 - He wants to drive anything with a wheel. He tried to steal one of the golf carts at the zoo. Pic #4 & 5 - Chips and hot dogs.

Pic #1, 3, 4, 5 - Fun at the Deanna Rose farm. The highlight was feeding the goats. As far as he was concerned they were just big dogs. He kept saying "Sassy". At one point he decided that he wanted to feed the little ones. Of course they were full. He was chasing the little ones around, and the big ones were chasing him trying to steal the food out of his hands.
Pic #2 - Sluggerrr up close. He wouldn't let him hold him, but he did give him a high five. He also saw Mr. Met, Raymond the Devil Ray, and whatever the name of the Texas Ranger mascot was.
Pic #6 - This wasn't as dangerous as it looks. Momma told him to go play with his toys. He took it literally and took every single toy out of the toy box.

Pic #1 -Look out when he gets behind the wheel.
Pic #2 - Fun with friends.
Pic #3 - His first corn on the cob. What a novelty.
Pic #4 - He loves monkeys.
Pic #5 - His first look at a horse up close

CJ was invited to a birthday party at "Pump it Up". He had a blast. The play time lasted for 1 1/2 hours, followed by cake and ice cream. He was the youngest child there. I had to carry him up the rope ladders for the slides. That was not an easy task. At the end he just crashed. He was almost to tired for cake and ice cream.

CJ's big weekend - Saturday morning I was pruning some trees in the backyard. He tried to help in every phase of the cleanup. He was dragging branches across the yard that had to weigh at least twice as much as he did. Apparently that was more fun than playing in the sandbox. At lunch he fell a sleep in the high chair. He then took a two hour nap - unheard of for him on a weekend. Then we went to the beach at the local lake. He definitely loves the water. Then, it was time for CJ's first concert. The Little River band was performing at Old Shawnee Days. He made it through 45 minutes which was more than I expected. By then it was almost 10 and time to go. Sunday - it was back to Old Shawnee days for his first carnival. Other kids were crying about being on the spinning rides. His only complaint was when each ride came to an end and he had to get off.
